About Us


Our story began many recipes ago, when our founders received two gallons of Slap Ya Mama seasoning as a gift from a grateful house guest. They decided to share this bounty with their cooking friends. The one and only stipulation was that each participant share their recipes and photos with each other and eventually on our blog. In all, 87 recipes were submitted...by 37 cooks!

The challenge was so fun and so successful that no one wanted to quit! That’s how we were born. Today we continue to have an eclectic, enthusiastic group of folks including home cooks, professional chefs, food bloggers, a butcher, professional cake decorator and a food magazine contributor from all over the United States and Canada. 

We can’t wait to see what we do next, so follow us and you can see what happens too!
